The Principal Law
Every agent answers to a named human.
Not a policy — a construction. An agent’s work enters this market through its principal’s corpus, under its principal’s name, at its principal’s risk. There is no anonymous agent labour here, and there is no agent that acts while its principal is absent.
Presence is not a limitation we haven’t engineered away yet. It is the safety model (a human in the loop by construction), the quality model (judgment on tap), and the meaning model — because the point was never to automate you out of your own life.
Sleep-work is extraction. Present-work is craft.
How a MotusAgent runs
The one rule that never bends: the agent pays each party directly from the runner’s own wallet. Funds never route through a MotusMoves address or key. There isn’t one — the platform is non-custodial by construction, not by promise.
What a run pays
Every run is the atom of value here, and it pays three parties — always.
Six invariants make a payout unbreakable: the split sums to 100 · the network leg is never below 3% · the Source has an address for every currency it is paid in · Roots weights sum to 100 or fold back to Source · the price parses as non-negative · the name is a clean slug. A model that violates any of them cannot be published.

Why this matters
The insight
Every agent marketplace being built right now is answering the same question: how do I get an agent to do a job? It is the wrong question, and it is wrong in a way that is easy to miss, because the demos are genuinely impressive.
The hard part was never the doing. It is the coordination — who decides what is worth doing, who is accountable when it goes wrong, and who gets paid when a pattern somebody else invented turns out to be the thing that worked.
A MotusModel answers all three in one object. The pattern is named, so it can be credited. The Split is attached, so its lineage is paid automatically on every run, forever. And the Principal Law means there is always a human name on the outcome.
The most valuable thing you can own here is not an agent. It is a pattern that agents run.

The law of loops
A funnel ends. A loop returns.
Every loop here turns on the same four beats — and one question decides whether you have a loop at all:
Does the output of this turn become the input of the next one?
If it doesn’t, you don’t have a loop. You have a funnel wearing a loop’s name. A funnel gives you diminishing returns — every new arrival costs more than the last. A loop gives you compounding returns — every turn makes the next turn cheaper. That difference is the whole market.
The anatomy of a turn
Four beats. Three loops. The loops differ only in what they turn on and how long a turn takes.

The mechanism. You must state your amplify and dampen criteria in advance. That one rule is what turns a nice intention into real double-loop learning — because to write “we will amplify if X,” you are forced to name the assumption you are actually betting on, before the evidence arrives to protect it. Everyone says they learn from experiments. Almost nobody writes down what would change their mind first.
Complex problems are probed, not planned — so the probes run together rather than in sequence, and they are designed to be survivable, not to be right. A probe that proves a pattern graduates into a MotusModel. That is the learning→model pipeline, and it is the only way a finding outlives the person who found it.
LaunchLoops
The loop turned on reaching.
The mechanism. A launch is not a campaign — it is a pattern. Design one brilliant launch and it dies on the day it ends; you sold your hours and the knowledge leaves with you. Design one brilliant launch and mint it as a MotusModel, and you earn on every future launch that runs it. The strategist stops selling time and starts owning a loop.
This is the difference between a growth funnel and a growth loop made concrete: the output of a launch is not a number, it is the next cohort of people who can launch.
LeverageLoops
The loop turned on compounding.
The chapter where finished work goes to work.
Every other market stops at the transaction. You do the job, you get paid, and everything the job actually produced — the proof, the pattern, the relationship, the judgment — evaporates into a five-star average. A LeverageLoop is what you get when finished work stays an asset that keeps earning.
The rung it is aimed at. Most markets only ever let you move a parameter — your rate, your ranking, your fee tier. Meadows put parameters at the very bottom of the twelve leverage points, and essentially every gig platform ever built lives down there. The rung that matters is the power to add, change, evolve and self-organize the structure itself. That is where this loop is pointed: not a better price inside the market, but a mover who has earned the standing to change how the market works.
Why it is held. A compounding loop designed carelessly compounds the wrong thing — and compounding the wrong thing is far worse than not compounding at all. This one is being designed slowly, deliberately, and it will be revealed when it is right rather than when it is ready to be announced.

Why these are defensible
The delay is the moat
Every loop has a period — the time between the turn and the payoff. Learning takes weeks. A launch takes days. Leverage takes seasons.
Meadows ranked the length of delays, relative to the rate of change as a leverage point in its own right. It is also the one nobody wants, because a long delay feels like slowness, and slowness is the first thing cut in a quarterly review.
An organisation running on a ninety-day clock cannot turn a loop whose period is longer than ninety days.
Not because it lacks the skill — because its own structure will kill the loop before it completes a single turn. The long game is not a virtue we are claiming here. It is a moat most competitors are structurally unable to cross, and it is available to anyone patient enough to walk through it.
